The first Israelites worshipped one God. They were enslaved by their pharaoh so they build his pyramids. The pharaoh set them free after the last of ten plagues killed a lot of people. They took about 40 years to get to Canaan or the Promise Land. On their way there, Moses had God speak to him and give him the ten commandments. When they got to Canaan, most of the older people or leaders had died. Moses never made it to Canaan so their new leader, Joshua, united them once again. They had to fight there way to the top because the Promise Land belonged to its people, or the Canaanites. After they took over, they came up with the idea of an alphabet, but the Romans ended up being the ones to finish it. This alphabet is now used all over the world.

1. Could've left earlier
I feel as though if all of the people would've rebelled earlier they could've gotten out earlier. They might've gotten to Canaan early and much more of them would've been alive. When God sent the ten plagues, they could've left so they wouldn't get sick but they didn't, they stayed and a lot of them died. A lot of their family and children died as well. Many lives could've been saved if they would've rebelled against the king and walked away.
2. Believed more in God
You could tell that the Israelites believed in God. They knew he was real and that God would help Moses guide them to freedom. I feel like they could've had more faith in God to guide them to the Promise Land. If they would've trusted him more, they would've seen and understood that it was best and that it was planned to take 40 years.
3. Not climbed Mount Sinai
It is said that while traveling through the Sinai desert, Moses climbed Mount Sinai. There he received the ten commandments from God, this ended up being the first part of the Hebrew Bible, the Torah. I feel like if he didn't climb Mount Sinai, it wouldn't have taken so long to get to Canaan. I understand that the ten commandments have affected the people in a good way since then, but i believe that if he didn't climb Mount Sinai, they would've got to the Promise Land faster.
